As the research partner of the NHS, public health and social care, the NIHR is committed to funding and supporting high quality health and care research. 

In Wessex, we support research across 31 specialty areas, including cancer, mental health, primary care and dementia. With our expert clinical leaders working alongside our core team, we ensure the successful delivery of research studies across a range of settings. Run your study

We offer a range of support to help you plan, place and perform high quality research.

If your study meets the eligibility criteria for the NIHR Clinical Research Network Portfolio - also known as the NIHR CRN Portfolio - we will work with you, research and development offices, funders, and other stakeholders to deliver your study to time and target.

Funding opportunities 

We fund, support and deliver high quality research alongside attracting, training and supporting the best researchers. 

Whether you are applying for funding for the first time, or have already received NIHR funding, we provide support so that you can conduct clinical and applied research in the areas of our region with the greatest health and care needs.
