The NIHR Clinical Research Network East Midlands supports the delivery of high-quality research in the NHS and social care across the East Midlands region. We are committed to providing the infrastructure that allows research to take place so that patients, carers and the public can benefit from new and better care and treatments.

We help to increase the opportunities for patients to take part in clinical research, ensure that studies are carried out efficiently, and support the Government’s strategy for UK Life Sciences by improving the environment for commercial contract clinical research in the East Midlands.
We are passionate about the contribution that clinical research can make to people's lives, and work collaboratively with NHS providers and other organisations to translate that passion into the effective delivery of studies in the region.
Our organisation is hosted by the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. We work across the East Midlands, which consists of Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire.
We make sure that clinical research is part of the day-to-day work of the NHS and social care across the East Midlands, working with 16 NHS Trusts, 11 Clinical Commissioning Groups and other qualified providers of NHS services.
