Professor Jennifer Logue to step down as Deputy Clinical Director

j

This month, Professor Jennifer Logue will step down from her role as Deputy Clinical Director of the Clinical Research Network: North West Coast (CRN) to take up her new role as Senior Medical Director for Early Clinical Development, Cardiovascular, Renal and Metabolism at Astra Zeneca.

Professor Logue joined the Network on the 1st March 2021 with the ambition for every person seeking healthcare in the North West Coast to have access to high quality research studies that are relevant to the health priorities of our region. Jen has helped develop the CRN's vision to ensure that research should not just be taking place in our hospitals but also in community settings, in social care, nursing homes, schools, local authorities and in people’s own homes. Thanks to her work, the Network has been able to start delivering on this ambition.

Professor Enitan Carrol, Clinical Director for the Network commented: " I would like to express our sincere gratitude to Professor Logue for the outstanding contribution she has made during her time with the Network. As well as complementing the leadership team with her dynamism, wisdom, innovation and wit, Jen has set the blueprint for effective partnership with local authorities and third sector organisations, to deliver greater research impact where it is needed most. She has challenged and changed how we think when it comes to partnering with social care to deliver research. We all wish Jen the very best of luck with her new role, and all her future endeavours."

Professor Jennifer Logue also commented: "We know that having access to research studies that address the needs of our communities is vital to improving health and tackling the widening health inequality gap for those who live in our region. To be a small part of this brilliant team working to address this has been a privilege. I would like to thank all of my colleagues at the CRN for their commitment and passion demonstrated during my time at the Network."

We want to thank Professor Jennifer Logue for all her hard work and we wish her the best of luck in the future. To follow all of our latest updates be sure to follow us on Twitter @NIHRCRN_nwcoast.
