Lowestoft is Ready for Research!
Have you ever wondered how you can help to improve the health and wellbeing of your local community and to help develop future treatments?
A special health and care research event will be held at Lowestoft Library on 18 May between 10am – 2pm to mark International Clinical Trials Day.
At this free-to-attend event, there will be information stands from Lowestoft GP practices, James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, East Coast Community Healthcare and Norfolk Community Health & Care NHS Trust.
The event is being hosted by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network (CRN) East of England.
In the East of England, over 88,862 of people took part in NIHR-supported health and social care research studies last year.
There are many ways that people can take part in research, and they can be asked through their local GP practice, their hospital or through community services.
Research also takes place in wider community settings, including care homes, hospices, schools and colleges.
Donna Coe, Community Engagement Manager at CRN East of England, said:
“We want to make research accessible and to reach people from all backgrounds, so that we can improve health and care for all.
“So please come along and share your ideas with us because this will help us to provide research opportunities that will benefit yourself, your family and your local community.”
