East Midlands hospice wins research award

We are delighted to congratulate LOROS Hospice for recently winning the Hospice UK Award, in recognition of the fantastic programme that has been made in delivering NIHR portfolio research studies.

We are proud to work closely with the team at LOROS to deliver research, and thrilled that everyone's hard work has been recognised in this way. A huge well done from us to all of the staff and research participants at LOROS.

Commenting on the award, Professor Christina Faull, Consultant in Palliative Medicine & Research Lead at LOROS, said:

“We are so delighted to receive the Hospice UK award in acknowledgment of our contribution to NIHR portfolio studies. Every single department in LOROS is involved in improving care through research and our commitment to be able to offer patients and families the opportunity to participate.

"Our research nurses Natalie Ayton and Naomi Seaton our instrumental in enabling staff to identify and approach patients as well as tremendously skillful in sensitively working with participants  who, as everyone in palliative care knows, are often very unwell and facing huge challenges. I’d like also to thank our PPI group for the enormous support and passion for this work.”
