NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) South West Peninsula - Researchers

Supporting Research

High quality health and social care research sits at the heart of the healthcare delivery because it helps to improve treatments and patient care. It’s our job to deliver research throughout the health and social care system. We do this by funding research staff in local services, who support the delivery of research and make patients aware of research opportunities.

We know the best sites to conduct research, where specific patient populations are based and how to access the right equipment to deliver research studies effectively. We understand how the NHS works and we help the clinical research community plan, set up and deliver clinical research on time and to target.

With our support and guidance thousands of patients, across a huge range of conditions, in hospitals, GP surgeries and the community throughout the South West, access clinical research opportunities every year.

Research in care homes

Our ENRICH network brings together care home staff, residents and their families with researchers. It provides a toolkit of resources to help care homes make the most of research and researchers to set up and run studies effectively and collaboratively in care homes. Contact j.wylie1@nhs.net
