The best of research showcased at CRN North Thames Research Awards

Black and Gold MT Awards

The great and the good of the research community across North Thames gathered in central London on 12 September for the 2024 CRN North Thames Research Awards.

About 150 people gathered to celebrate the efforts of those who made research great in 2023/24, with both individuals and teams being recognised across a wide range of categories.

The London offices of the Royal College of Physicians made for a fantastic venue.

Lynis Lewis, Director of Research at NOCLOR, received the lifetime achievement award and a standing ovation.

Research Nurse of the Year Award went to Tracey Camburn of Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust, while Osinachi Egole, of Barts Health, was Research Midwife of the Year.

Anna David, of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, was named Chief Investigator of the Year and Karen D’Souza and Louise Ma, both of Whittington Health NHS Trust, jointly won the Principal Investigator of the Year Award.

In terms of team awards, there were accolades for the Research Engagement Team at Barts Health NHS Trust (Excellence in PPIE) and the ILANA Team at Queen Mary University of London, who won the Innovation in Reducing Health Inequalities Award.
