Senior Research Leader nurses and midwives programme open

A south London senior nursing research leader is urging nurses and midwives to apply for an NIHR leadership programme.

The NIHR's Senior Research Leader (SRL) programme for nurses and midwives aims to unlock the research potential of senior nurses and midwives. The NIHR wants to support the development of nurses and midwives as future research leaders and increase research capacity and capability at the local, regional and national levels.

Applications are now open for the 2024 Senior Research Leader Programme: Nursing and Midwifery cohort. The deadline for applications is Tuesday 31 October.

Clair Harris, CRN South London's Co-Lead for Research Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Professionals (NMAP), said:

"I urge nurses and midwives to apply for the SRL programme. The initiative places nurses and midwives at the heart of healthcare research, increasing their profile as established research leaders and highlighting their sustained value and contribution to the NIHR and the wider research community.

"The programme will provide time and opportunities for SRLs to fully utilise their senior research leadership capabilities to drive meaningful changes within their organisations and beyond."

You can find out more about the programme on the NIHR's website.
