A Rotherham GP Practice who up until February 2023 had only been involved in a small number of research studies, has rocketed to become one of the most research active practices in South Yorkshire.

Under the guidance of GP partner Dr Ali, the team at Woodstock & Bower Surgery have participated in more than 24 NIHR portfolio studies over the past 12 months, enrolling over 600 of their patients. Their drive, ambition and genuine passion for research has seen the practice become involved in a wide range of research from relatively straight forward Patient Identification Centre (PIC) studies, through to complex interventional trials.

Speaking about the practice’s incredible research journey over the past 12 months, Dr Ali said: "Over the past 12 months, our journey into research at Woodstock Bower Surgery has been exciting. Our team's dedication and passion for advancing the care of our patients has drove our desire to engage in research.  We've embraced a diverse range of studies all with the aim of improving patient care and outcomes."

"This journey wouldn't have been possible without the invaluable support of CRN Yorkshire and Humber's Agile Research Team, in particular Mark Pinkerton (Research Engagement Practitioner) whose guidance and expertise has been instrumental every step of the way. As we continue to push the boundaries of research, we're here to make a difference, one study at a time."
