Professor praises south London cardiovascular award winners

A south London professor has praised his award-winning cardiovascular researchers from across the region for their outstanding work.

At a special event, these researchers received their end-of-year awards from CRN South London’s Deputy Chief Operating Officer, Dawn Beaumont-Jewell. The Cardiovascular Research Symposium took place at Guy’s Hospital with a record attendance. This event aimed to highlight the opportunities and challenges in cardiovascular research.

Attendees heard from an array of speakers who showcased the breadth and successes of cardiovascular research in south London. Highlights of the symposium included talks from Dr Mark Mason, a Medical Director from Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, who detailed his vision for world-leading clinical care and research in south London, and from Dr Orlanda Allen on the development of women’s health programmes.
