Meet ELSA at thinktank in Birmingham on 20-21 February

Looking for something to do with your children at half term?

Why not come along to thinktank at Birmingham Science Museum and take part in some fun activities to help children learn about clinical research?

Meet the teams from the NIHR Clinical Research Network West Midlands, JDRF and Diabetes UK. working on the EarLy Surveillance for Autoimmune diabetes (ELSA) study to learn about their research into screening for diabetes in children under 13. 

Activities include:

  • a mock clinical trial - does pop or classical music help you concentate better?
  • make a brain from modelling clay
  • genome bracelet making

Meet the Expert runs between 10am and 4pm on Monday 20 February and Tuesday 21 February.

It is an excellent opportunity for visitors of all ages to meet people working in STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Maths), learn about STEM careers and current research projects whilst participating in a range of related activities.
