Launch of Vision magazine - Spring 2022
Your Spring issue of Vision magazine is here! Enjoy this digital version and keep an eye out for physical copies arriving at health and care organisations across Wessex this month.
In this issue, we reflect on the regional response to the coronavirus pandemic and how teams have collaborated to face the challenges presented to us by COVID-19. Here’s what you can expect to read:
- A foreword by our Clinical Director Professor Saul Faust, who has been instrumental in progressing COVID-19 studies in the region during the pandemic. Prof Faust reflects on the past two years and looks to the future.
- Dr Patrick Moore, Rebecca Cutts and Nicki Lakeman from the Dorset Research Hub write about their experience of setting up the hub at the beginning of the pandemic.

- An interview with Consultant Psychiatrist Professor Shanaya Rathod, who provides an insight into the Psychological Impact of COVID-19 study, looking at the long-term effects of the pandemic on our mental health.
- A reflection on cross-team collaboration at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust with Sharon Glaysher, Translational Research Laboratory Manager, Chrissie Minnis, Clinical Trials Service Manager, Dr Laura Wiffen, Respiratory Research Fellow, Zoe Daly, Senior Research Nurse, and Katrina James, Ward Manager.
- Finding COVID-19 treatments in the community with Dr Phillip Jacobs and Laura Thomas from Stokewood Surgery in Fair Oak.
- Research Sisters, Thea Sass and Mae Felongco from University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, share their experience of collaboration with teams across the trust during the pandemic.
