Bringing Clinical Research Practitioners together from across Kent, Surrey and Sussex
CRN Kent, Surrey and Sussex hosted its first ever Clinical Research Practitioner (CRP) networking event, where a total of 55 CRPs came together from across the region. It aimed to support CRPs in delivering safe, ethical and high quality research.
CRPs make up 25% of the research workforce. They have an important role in getting patient consent, data collection, and other study protocol activities. They are also key project managers who liaise with research investigators and research delivery teams.
The event allowed CRPs to further develop their skills, showcase their work and learn about exciting opportunities to develop within research delivery and clinical academic careers. They also had the opportunity to network and share best practice, ensuring that consistent, high quality research is being delivered across the region.
Claire Pegg, Regional Chief Nurse Research Lead and Workforce Development Lead at CRN KSS said: “We were super pleased with how the CRP event went. The showcasing was incredible - seeing the skills, enthusiasm and motivation of all the different CRPs across the region was inspiring.
“It was so evident that they were all driven to deliver the best care that they could to the patients and service users that they see. The event demonstrated just what an amazing workforce we have in KSS.”
