Apple watch trial aims to boost physical activity for diabetes patients

Apple watch trial aims to boost physical activity for diabetes patients

A new trial will provide a smart watch and financial incentives to encourage people with type 2 diabetes to increase their physical activity.

The ACTIVATE trial aims to help people become healthier and potentially reduce pressures on the NHS.

Participants will be provided with an Apple watch to help them track their progress and complete an app-based weekly physical activity prescription. They can earn up to £365 a year in vouchers if they achieve all their activity goals.

The NIHR-supported trial is a partnership between Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Milton Keynes City Council.

Visit the Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust website to learn more about the trial.
