NIHR CRN Kent, Surrey and Sussex Research Support Awards 2023

Contents

Introduction

Now in its third year, the CRN Kent, Surrey and Sussex Research Support Awards recognise the extraordinary work being done across the health and care sector to help in the delivery and promotion of research across Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

A great many people play a pivotal role in delivering research, without holding any formal research role. The support of clinicians, administrators and volunteers across NHS Trusts and the wider health and social care community is often vital to the success of a research trial.

Research Support Awards is the research community’s chance to say “thank you” for that support, and recognise the hard work of those who have made vital contributions to the success of research in the region.

Who is eligible for the award?

  • People nominated for an award must NOT work in a research role/ CRN funded post (as a researcher or in research delivery, including R&D teams; Chief Investigators or Principal Investigators)
  • Nominations can be made for teams and individuals
  • Nominations must be for support provided as part of their, or their team’s normal NHS or employment responsibilities
  • Nominees - individuals or teams - must be employed by an organisation within the CRN Kent, Surrey and Sussex region at the time of nomination
  • The nomination statement must highlight how the person or team has contributed to research within the last two years (January 2022 to December 2023)
  • If you work for the NHS you can nominate clinical and non-clinical colleagues
  • If you work in the wider health and social care sector you can nominate anyone who helps with research activities
