Case study: Meet Amanda, Study Support Manager for CRN Wessex

I have been working in CRN Wessex since 2012,  and since early 2023 my role has been focused on supporting and developing the workstreams within Primary Care, Public Health & Social Care, as well as more widely within Study Support services across the range of specialties. This service includes study set up advice, Attributing the costs of health and social care Research & Development (AcoRD) specialist support and leaning on my previous experience within the team as an Assistant Portfolio Manager across specialties.

We promote and support the Enabling Research in Care Homes scheme. We also work closely with our contacts locally and nationally to support and offer research study opportunities where possible in these settings and raise the profile of  NIHR research to the public and professionals. 

I am also the local lead for the Join Dementia Research service and I manage and coordinate the promotions and projects happening in Wessex to support this service, linking in with our national teams.
