Winners of Research Champion Impact Awards announced
Frances Mossie and Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust are the winners of the CRN Kent, Surrey and Sussex Research Champion Impact Awards.
The Impact Awards recognise the contribution that Research Champions make to research across Kent, Surrey and Sussex. The awards also recognise the importance of the support and encouragement provided to Research Champions by our partner organisations on a day to day basis.
Frances Mossie, a Research Champion at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust won the Individual Award. Frances has been a Research Champion for over seven years. She has worked with the volunteer service at the trust to recruit five more Research Champions, organised events, and supported her Research Champion colleagues to assist consultants and nurses to deliver research.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust research and development also won the Team Impact Award.
Sue McGill, a Research Champion at Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was awarded runner up in the ‘individual’ category. Go to the real life stories section of the NIHR website to find out about the activities Sue has done at the trust.
A celebration event will be held later in the year to thank the winners and give them an opportunity to share their work.
