Shortlist revealed for Greater Manchester Health and Care Research Awards 2022

The finalists for the Greater Manchester Health and Care Research Awards 2022, sponsored by Clinerion, have been announced.

Almost 200 nominations were received, with submissions coming from across Greater Manchester, East Cheshire and East Lancashire.

The award winners will be revealed during a ceremony at The Etihad Stadium, Manchester, on the evening of Thursday 29 September 2022.

The ceremony will be a celebration of the finalists, and our wider research community, who have delivered, or enabled the delivery of, high quality NIHR CRN Portfolio research studies during the year 2021/22.

Due to a particularly strong response to the Outstanding Achievement by a Team category (sponsored by PPD, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific), the judges decided to split the category in two. This means, there are now two separate categories in this field: Outstanding Achievement by a Team which has demonstrated outstanding ways of working, and Outstanding Achievement by a Team which has demonstrated outstanding delivery of a study.

Sarah Fallon, Chief Operating Officer for NIHR Clinical Research Network Greater Manchester, said: “Our judges were highly impressed by the standard of nominations, which demonstrated the excellent quality and wide variety of research being delivered across health, care and community settings in our region.

“The details outlined in the nominations are fantastic reminders of why our network is so proud to deliver research participation opportunities for our local communities.

“We’re extremely grateful to everyone who has taken the time and effort to recognise a colleague or team with a nomination and we would like to congratulate all of our finalists on being shortlisted. We look forward to welcoming them, along with all our guests, to the ceremony on 29 September.”

Thank you to our sponsors

This year’s awards are in association with Clinerion, a commercial partner which provides real world data solutions. Clinerion is also the sponsor of our Transforming Research Delivery category.

Two other awards have also been kindly sponsored by other valued partners of CRN Greater Manchester.

Our award for Outstanding Achievement by a Team has been sponsored by global pharmaceutical contract research organisation PPD, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, and our award for Inclusive Involvement Excellence has been sponsored by global clinical research organisation and biopharmaceutical services company Parexel.
