Richard Mitchell becomes Chair of CRN East Midlands Partnership Group

We are pleased to announce that Richard Mitchell is the new Chair of our Partnership Group. Richard is Chief Executive at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, where he has worked since June 2017. Richard is also the Chair of the East Midlands Leadership Academy and the Lead Officer for the Mid Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership.

Previously, he served as Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for four years. Richard has also worked at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and Guys’ and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London and brings a wealth of experience to the position.

Our Partnership Group meetings provide a forum for us to work with stakeholders from across the region to develop and conduct research that benefits patients and the public, and Richard’s insights and leadership will enable him to make a substantial contribution to our work in the years ahead.

Richard’s has previously spoken about the importance of teamwork, support and kindness, and we look forward to working closely with him to ensure that we can continue to practice these values within research across the East Midlands.

Richard replaces Dr Peter Miller as our Partnership Group Chair. We would like to reiterate our thanks to Peter for all his support and hard work, and wish him all the best for his retirement.
