Do you have questions about research happening to help people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)? Now is your chance to ask the leading experts in IBD for the answers.
You are invited to an online Q&A with leading NIHR researchers, where the latest research into IBD will be talked about.
Professor Miles Parkes and Laetitia Pele will take questions in an ‘ask the expert’ event on Friday 19 May from 6pm-7pm.
Professor Parkes is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (CUH) and Laetitia Pele is a IBD BioResource Research Coordinator at NIHR BioResource.
Professor Parkes’ clinical and research focus is on inflammatory bowel disease and researching the genetic and environmental causes of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and understanding how better to treat these conditions.
The IBD BioResource is a national platform designed to expedite research into Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis and help develop new and better therapies. Pele is supporting studies looking at how genes and other factors may influence diseases.
How can I sign up?
To join the Q&A, sign up ahead of the date using the event registration form. You can enter your question for the experts using this form but there will also be an opportunity to ask your question during the event (the text box for questions will be provided in the webinar).
If you are unable to attend but you would like to be sent a recording of it, you can also sign up for this using the form.
The event is hosted by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), a Department of Health and Social Care-funded organisation that works to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research.
It will be hosted on Zoom, which can be accessed through a computer browser or app for devices. Details of the link to follow will be emailed in the lead up to the webinar.
