Questions about Parkinson’s Disease? Ask the expert!
The public are invited to a webinar to ask questions of a leading specialist about the latest research into Parkinson’s Disease hosted by journalist Rory Cellan-Jones.
Professor Of Clinical Neuroscience and Consultant Neurologist Michele Hu will take questions in an ‘ask the expert’ event on Tuesday 19 July from 7pm to 7.45pm.
Hosting the event will be former BBC technology correspondent Rory Cellan-Jones, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2019.
Guests must sign up in advance using this form where they can enter their question. They will also be able to ask their question during the event in the text box provided.
Those unable to attend can provide their email address to be sent a link to a recording of the event.
Professor Hu leads the medical Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders service Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, one of only seven nationally-accredited atypical Parkinson’s clinics, and is co-Principle Investigator of the Oxford Parkinson’s Disease Centre.
Her research involves longitudinal cohort studies and biomarkers for early and prodromal Parkinson’s disease, with particular focus on REM sleep behaviour disorder and how sleep affects neurodegeneration.
The event is hosted by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR), a Department of Health and Social Care-funded organisation that works to improve the health and wealth of the nation through research, and Cure Parkinson’s, which funds research into the disease.
It will be hosted on video conferencing service Google Meet, which can be accessed through a computer browser or the Google Meet app for devices.
