Public attend Oxford event on inflammatory bowel disease
More than 200 people attended an information evening on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) research at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.
The event included talks from researchers, charities and information stands and a panel discussion.
There were also talks from patients such as Oxford’s Zak Caton (pictured), 14, who spoke about living with Crohn's disease.
Topics covered include the relationship between diet and bacteria in the gut, new drugs for IBD and improving the quality of life of those affected.
The 4 February event was organised by the University of Oxford’s Gastroenterology Unit with support from the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and charities Crohn’s and Colitis UK (CCUK) and Crohn's in Childhood Research Association (CICRA).
