Network Scores with Defibrillator Donation to Hednesford Football Club

The Clinical Research Network West Midlands, part of The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, has handed over a defibrillator to Matt Jones (pictured, left) who is one of the Under 14s coaches at Hednesford Youth Development FC.

The piece of life saving kit was surplus to requirements after changes to the way the Network works during the pandemic.

Pauline Boyle, Chief Operating Officer of the Network (pictured, right) said: ‘We wanted to make sure the defibrillator was put to good use, and through a contact of one of our staff we heard about the Club’s appeal for one. I’m very pleased to have been able to donate it.’

Steve Ball, who also coaches the Under 14s at the club, added: ‘We are so lucky to have this and I’d like to thank the Network. My own son has had heart related issues and with the events at the Euros this year, it has brought the need for access to defibrillators to everyone’s attention.’
