Network Clinical Director Prof Belinda Lennox to step down

Our Clinical Director Prof Belinda Lennox will be stepping down at the end of September after seven years in post.

Belinda will be taking up a post as the Head of Department of Psychiatry at the University of Oxford.

She said: “It has been a huge privilege to be Clinical Director for the LCRN over the last seven years.

“I’m really proud of what the whole team has achieved over that time,  in particular with leading the delivery of COVID-19 urgent public health studies over the last year.

“It's now time for new leadership, but I'm not going far away and will continue to vigorously promote clinical research and work with you all.”

Chief Operating Officer Val Woods said: “Belinda has led the network from strength to strength and her leadership during the pandemic has enabled us and our partners to conduct research that has made a real impact on patients’ lives.

“I’m sure staff will join me in thanking Belinda for the massive amount she had done over the last seven years to establish the network as an integral part of England’s research infrastructure.”

Belinda’s departure means we will now be recruiting to the clinical director and co-clinical director posts, after Prof Andrew Protheroe stepped down last month to become the national director for clinical research for GenesisCare.
