Hindi and Sylheti calls for sign up to the National Vaccine Research Registry

NHS researchers across the North East, Cumbria, Yorkshire and Humber regions are working together to help find vaccines for COVID-19.

We are recruiting now for the next stage of clinical trials to help this research and it is important we include as many people as possible from all backgrounds, communities and ages.

It is important that clinical trials into a number of other COVID-19 vaccines continue. Different vaccines work in different ways and we still need to collect important information about which vaccines work best, and are best for different groups of people, and on exactly how effective they are at, for example, preventing severe infection, preventing infection as a whole, preventing transmission etc. We also need information on matters such as the best way to use vaccines, the number of doses, and to check long term that there are no safety concerns.

Chris Speed, Deputy Chief Operating Officer said: "I am delighted that we have worked with colleagues across the North East and North Cumbria and Yorkshire and Humber to produce these resources. They were driven by the unmet needs identified by some of the communities we serve. Our users advised us on what supporting materials they needed to share this important ongoing work with their friends, family and community. Research into vaccines for COVID needs to continue, I hope that these videos will allow us to spread this important message more widely."

NIHR Clinical Research Network North East and North Cumbria has put together an animation about how you can help this research by signing up to the National Vaccine Research Registry.
