grounded research spr award

Congratulations to Jaime Delgadillo, Director of Psychological Therapies Research at Grounded Research – the research team at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH).

At the 53rd Annual Meeting of the international Society for Psychotherapy Research (SPR) at the University of Denver, Colorado, USA, Jaime was presented with the SPR Outstanding Early Career Achievement Award for 2022 - one of only two such awards allocated worldwide each year.

The award is a highly prestigious honour given within nine years of completing a PhD and in recognition of making an outstanding contribution to psychotherapy research.

"The SPR brings together scientists from all over the world who strive to make therapy more accessible and effective for people experiencing the burden of mental health problems” ” said Jaime. “I am hugely grateful for this distinction and pleased that the work we do in RDaSH has international visibility."

Professor of Clinical Psychology at the University of Sheffield Michael Barkham said:

“In addition to high-quality publications, including in The Lancet Psychiatry and JAMA Psychiatry, Jaime is recognised as one of the leading psychotherapy researchers of his generation. He has made significant contributions to the clinical and cost-effectiveness of therapeutic feedback, promoted the use of machine learning, and is also amongst an elite group of researchers worldwide advancing the field of personalised psychological treatments.

“To be given this award against phenomenal competition from a wealth of extremely talented researchers working across all geographical continents is a truly magnificent achievement.”
