Dementia Café, Wallingford: learn about support and research opportunities

People with dementia and their carers are invited to learn about support and research opportunities in Wallingford, Oxfordshire later this month.

The Dementia Café will be held on Wednesday 29 June from 2pm to 4pm at Waterside Court Care Home, Winterbrook. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.

Visitors will be able to learn about how to take part in dementia research studies, for those with and without the condition, through the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

A physiotherapist will also be on hand to provide support and guidance alongside demonstrations of interactive multi-sensory activities for those with dementia.

The event is supported by Wallingford Town Council as part of plans to make the town more dementia friendly.

Adults with or without dementia can register to be matched to studies they could take part in online and in their area through the NIHR’s Join Dementia Research program.
