Covid Nurse Survey Now Live

covid nurse survey v1 0

Nurses and healthcare workers are being encouraged to partake in a national survey and share their experiences of working in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The survey is the first stage of the COVID-NURSE Project, which aims to collect information on innovations in practice and any novel approaches being used by front line clinical staff and their managers and leaders when addressing the fundamental care needs of non-invasively ventilated patients with COVID-19 in hospital.

Gayle Githens-Mazer, Research Delivery Manager, said:

“This important piece of research will help nurses learn from rapid innovations that have evolved during the Covid-19 Pandemic.  As nurses, constantly learning from each other and improving the fundamentals of care is key to good practice.”

Results of the survey will inform the development of the second phase of the study which will be co-created by patients, nurses and other health care workers using data from the survey and from a rapid review of existing evidence which is currently ongoing.

The study team will then undertake a randomised controlled trial across 18 NHS sites to determine the impact of the protocol on patient experience, care quality, patients’ ability to manage day-to-day activities, treatment outcomes and costs.
