Mental Health Research: A Story of Diversity and Inclusion

Date: 17 March 2020
Time: 09:30 to 16:30

We aim to offer something for colleagues across the region, irrespective of their specialty. In particular the focus will be:

Showcasing some of the variety of mental health research within the region, especially in adults, and young people

  • Identifying some of the touch points that mental health research has with other services and the shared goals and benefits of such multi-morbidity programmes of work
  • The significant, and important, input in to such work by service users and carers in the co-production of effective interventions and/or the projects to evaluate their effectiveness
  • An opportunity to consider some of the issues raised within the diversity of mental health related research, and (hopefully) suggest potential solutions!

The programme will offer perspectives from service users, carers, clinicians, and academics involved in research activity, sharing their experiences and details of their work. In addition there will be round-table discussions of a number of related key-issues for all those involved in healthcare in which mental health issues may be a concern, and opportunity for a Q&A session with our panel of our presenters.
