Quarter 3 data cut - 5pm on Friday 29 January 2021

Having data which accurately reflects the activities we support is essential as it enables CRN services to support research delivery.

Ahead of the Quarter 3 data cut, please make sure all research activity data is recorded / captured in both R-Peak and CPMS where applicable. This will help ensure sites get Excess Treatment Costs (ETCs) and Service support payments in a timely manner.

  • The importance of timely and accurate recruitment upload (manual route studies) or confirmation (LPMS route studies) in relation to the Excess Treatment Cost calculation
  • Ensure recruitment in either LPMS or CPMS is recorded against active ODS codes on an ongoing basis - check the status of sites using the Public ODP Site Search tool (no login required).

Restart update - September 2020

Restart focus:

  • Restore a fully active Portfolio of NIHR research to improve the health of the nation
  • Continue to support COVID-19 NIHR research as part of the government's response to the pandemic

Thank you to all our GM partner organisations who have worked hard and continue to do so by completing any missing gaps of paused activity within R-Peak.

Please continue to use this functionality (outlined in the instructions at the bottom of this page) in R-Peak and keep up to date the recording of both paused and un-paused research activity at your organisation.

We appreciate and acknowledge it will be an ongoing process, study-by-study, as capacity allows the restarting of any NIHR studies that have been paused due to COVID-19.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and support - it really is much appreciated.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at researchsupport.crngm@nihr.ac.uk

Update - June 2020

Thank you to our GM partner organisations who have all confirmed their use of the R-Peak functionality for recording delays caused by COVID-19.

This really is welcome news which provides us with centralised visibility and a streamlined process for managing and reporting study activity where paused or restarted at site level across GM.

Please continue to use this functionality to record delays.

We appreciate and acknowledge it will be an ongoing process, study-by-study, as capacity allows the restarting of any NIHR studies that have been paused due to COVID-19.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at researchsupport.crngm@nihr.ac.uk

New R-Peak function for recording COVID-19 delays

R-Peak now has a new functionality which allows Trust R&D/R&I teams to record/capture research delays caused to NIHR Portfolio studies by COVID-19.

To use this new functionality:

  • please see the properties tab in R-Peak where three fields have been made available for you to record any research delays to Portfolio studies because of COVID 19
  • we have also added a start and end date field just below the impact field so we can record how long the delay lasts

Based on your activity updates to this Properties tab we (CRN GM) can then report back to the NIHR CRN Coordinating Centre on a weekly basis.

Thank you for your cooperation and support. If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact us at researchsupport.crngm@nihr.ac.uk

Please note: You cannot access R-Peak over the public internet, only within the NHS network.

To access R-Peak from home, you will need a VPN (Virtual Private Connection) to be set-up by your Trust's IT team. This will allow you to connect remotely to your Trust’ work desktop and use R-Peak from there.
