Collecting and storing your data

Purpose

By signing up to this webinar, I give my consent for the Clinical Research Network (CRN) Wessex to collect and store information relating to my name, organisation, role, contact details and any other personal data items for the purpose of event planning and management.

This data will be processed with your consent.

CRN Wessex is hosted by University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS). CRN Wessex is part of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

Our privacy policies

The information you provide will be processed and stored in accordance with our privacy policy.

We regularly review and, where necessary, update our privacy information. If we plan to use personal data for a new purpose, we update our privacy information and communicate the changes to individuals before starting any new processing.

Storing your data

Data will be stored securely in accordance with our policies for a period of two years, after which it will be destroyed. CRN Wessex will not share your data outside of the European Economic Area (EEA), however the services that we use to process this data, including Google Apps for Business, Eventbrite and Zoom, may use servers which are located in other countries.

In these cases, the provider’s terms of use or the contract we hold with them will include the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or equivalent language to the same effect.

Third parties

We may communicate your information to third parties who are authorised and/or contracted to provide our services. Any such third parties must handle your information in compliance with our privacy policies.

Event recording

We promote health and care research from the perspective of patients, carers, members of the public, researchers, health and social care staff and academia. This helps people to understand healthcare research and supports our work to help improve healthcare for patients in the future.

We will be recording the CRN Wessex Clinical Research Practitioner webinar series. The recordings will be used by CRN Wessex and the NIHR in an appropriate manner for the following purposes:

Internal and external communications, publications and online
To promote health and care research through communications campaigns
For other NIHR platforms such as NIHR Learn and other projects promoting research

The CRN Wessex CRP webinar series will take place using Zoom. Before the Zoom recording starts, attendees will be notified and will have the option to either consent to stay in the session or leave.

The event recording will be made available after the event and hosted on NIHR Learn.
